The AL01 combines its low profile with our Fitting Edge and a fully recessed bolt. We manufacture these ahead caps at our headquarter in Germany. The pictured graphic is a design example; shape, material and specifications apply across the AL01 designs in this category.

Follow the relevant product instructions and check fit before use.

  1. Check fit

    Check that your steerer tube uses the standard 1 1/8-inch size.

  2. Fit the cap

    Use the supplied matching aluminium bolt and follow your headset instructions.

  3. Observe the torque limit

    The AL01 bolt limit is 5 Nm. This is a maximum, not a general headset adjustment setting.

Will the AL01 fit my bike?

It is designed for bikes with a standard 1 1/8-inch steerer tube, from mountain bikes to gravel and everyday bikes. Check your setup dimensions.

Is the bolt included?

Yes. A black anodised M6 × 35 mm aluminium bolt is included.

How tight can I fasten the ahead cap?

AL01 has a maximum of 5 Nm. Also follow the installation requirements for your headset.

Can I create my own design?

Yes. You can create a custom AL01 in our Custom MTB Parts section.

Ahead cap, top cap or stem cap: what do these mean?

These terms refer to the cap at the top of an ahead headset. Our AL01 uses aluminium; CF01 uses carbon. Installation and maximum torque depend on the model.
