One of the people behind Downhill24 is Armin Hartmann aka Jibberist. The 21-year-old from Switzerland is a passionate mountain bike rider and also works full-time in a bike store.
When we asked him how he came up with the name Jibberist, he gave us the following answer:
Honestly no idea, it came into my brain all of a sudden and I think "jibbing" is very cool because it doesn't define ,what you are doing right now... You can go fast or slow while doing it, do big jumps, small jumps and it doesn't matter if you do mega rad tricks or not. Better a chill trick with style than spin to win without style!
We think you can leave it like that.
The design wishes arose from his youth, which was very influenced by hip-hop, he tells us. That's why he chose a graffiti design.
Cycling connects, I think it's cool if we can bring people together, why not create a product/design that people can talk about and ultimately sit on the bike together.
